Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment. It is the fourth game in the Counter-Strike series. Developed for over two years, Global Offensive was released for Windows, macOS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in August 2012, and Linux in 2014. Valorant is a free-to-play first-person hero shooter developed and published by Riot Games, for Microsoft Windows. First teased under the codename Project A in October 2019, the game began a closed beta period with limited access on April 7, 2020, followed by an official release on June 2, 2020.

than CS: GO
The two most played FPS games at the moment are Counter-Strike Global Offensive, referred to as CSGO, and Valorant. The objectives of both the games are the same the attacking team places the bomb (or "Spike" in VALORANT), and the defending team's mission is to defuse it before it explodes, all while trying to kill everyone on the other team. Many CS: GO players have switched to VALORANT because its shooting mechanics and weapons are similar Initially CS: GO was one of the top-grossing FPS games, and it played a major role in the esports scene but within just two years VALORANT has easily caught up to this competition, becoming one of the top-rated FPS games recently.

1. Unique Map features
There are several unique elements in each of the maps in VALORANT that make the gameplay distinct. A few of which are Ascent – known for its breakable doors, Bind – has teleporters, Split – has ropes used to traverse, Icebox – has zip lines, Haven – has three bomb sites, Breeze – it is the largest map, Fracture – multiple entries to attack sites. Whereas CS: GO does not have this wide variety of features.
2. Better Gameplay than CS: GO
The unique abilities of the agents contribute to the major portion of the gameplay, with each agent having special skills and abilities. There are four different types of agents: Duellist, Initiator, Sentinel, Controller each of which individually contributes to the vivid gaming experience. CS: GO gameplay is very basic and follows the same frequency throughout the game as it lacks all the fun elements that VALORANT has.

The four agents in VALORANT are: Duellist- responsible for site entries, Initiator – they initiate an attack, Sentinel – they are defensive experts who can lockdown areas, Controller – they control a site. They each have their personality and abilities.
CS: GO has generic operators you can either be a terrorist or a counter-terrorist. Each agent in VALORANT has their backstory in regards to their ability and personality whereas CS: GO operators are mercenaries with war backgrounds. CS: GO lacks the flavourful elements that VALORANT has making it duller compared to VALORANT.

Functionally, weapon skins don't make the guns more powerful or effective, but the fact that VALORANT's visual design is not limited to realism gives the developers more freedom to create unique weapon skins and cosmetics, so there's a wide range of visual styles for weapon skins you can purchase or unlock with the battle pass. VALORANT has the best weapon Skins and animations compared to any other FPS game. Although these are expensive.
5. Cheat detection in VALORANT is better than that in CS: GO
The cheat detection system in Valorant also known as Vanguard detects all sorts of cheats. Once a cheat is detected the match will be terminated and will not affect the player points but cheating is a bigger issue in CS: GO even with its anti-cheat system in place it isn’t as strong as Vanguard.
Valorant also has an alt-fire fire for almost every gun which makes it easier for newer payers that get into the game. These are a few reasons that have helped VALORANT gain popularity in this short span of time there are several other features that make it an even better game.
